The Carrefour de l’eau is a project that aims to make Quebec City a world leader in sustainable development, particularly in the field of water-related technologies, whether recycling, treatment or sanitation. 6 founding partners are involved: H2O Innovation, INRS, Patriarche, the City of Quebec, 2 Degrés and the Port of Quebec.


A few words about 2 Degrés

2 Degrés is Quebec’s first incubator dedicated exclusively to supporting new cleantech companies. We support, structure and stimulate the development of clean technology companies with the aim of reducing the economy’s carbon footprint and creating sustainable wealth. To achieve this, we offer a highly specialized and personalized range of support services, mobilizing all our strengths and pooling existing resources and expertise through a large network of partners, experts and collaborators.



Reporting to the general management of 2 Degrés, the Director of Carrefour de l’eau plays a strategic role in the development of the project. The person in this role oversees the entire development of the project. The Director plans, directs and coordinates the planning, organization and execution of project-related activities, events and projects in line with established objectives.



  • Project planning and coordination
    • Plan, organize, control and evaluate all Carrefour de l’eau activities
    • In collaboration with the steering committee (made up of project partners), develop and implement the Carrefour de l’eau partnership strategy.
    • Ensure the resolution of any situations that may impede project progress and the achievement of project objectives
    • Develop the orientations, objectives and priorities of the Carrefour de l’eau and propose them to the Partners Committee for adoption.
    • Define action plans to achieve objectives and fulfill agreed commitments
    • Recruit and award mandates to external consultants and firms providing services, maintain relationships with them, ensure that deadlines are met, objectives achieved and the quality of their deliverables.
    • Prepare, lead and moderate meetings of the teams and committees involved in the Carrefour de l’eau event
    • Act as spokesperson for Carrefour de l’eau and give public speeches when necessary
    • Ensure the deployment of communication activities arising from the outreach-communication plan to be implemented in conjunction with partners
  • Business development and financing
    • Establish a financing plan to ensure the completion and sustainability of the project and subsequent phases
    • Develop a partnership strategy in line with established objectives
    • Oversee all business development and fundraising activities
    • Solicit meetings, present the project, and establish solid, fruitful relationships with them with a view to putting the financial package in place.
    • Develop, implement and maintain fruitful relationships with the various partners, service providers, suppliers, financial backers and economic players involved in the project.
    • Keep a constant watch on all available subsidies for the development of services and the project
  • Administration and reporting
    • Prepare annual budget forecasts (material and financial resources, human resources and operating expenses) and submit them to the Board of Directors for adoption
    • Monitor budgeted expenses in accordance with current policies, and submit any unforeseen expenses to the Board of Directors for approval.
    • Identify performance indicators, evaluate results and impacts and prepare analyses for presentation to the management committee
    • Analyze discrepancies between results achieved and objectives pursued, draft activity reports, submit recommendations to the Management Committee and implement the chosen solutions.
    • All other related tasks (reporting, administrative tasks, etc.)


Job requirements

  • 1st cycle university degree in a discipline relevant to the mandate (2nd cycle an asset)
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar position

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative, developmental, innovative and solution-oriented business relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to inspire credibility with decision-makers, funders, partners and collaborators
  • Excellent knowledge of the ecosystem of research, innovation and entrepreneurship in the water sector
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and achieve objectives
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French and English
