2 Degrés receives $510,942 in funding to strengthen its cleantech impact

2 Degrés is proud to announce the awarding of $510,942 in new funding from the City of Quebec, aimed at accelerating the growth of clean technology companies and innovations, and furthering its development.

This new support, six years after its first commitment, brings the City of Quebec's investment in the incubator to over $2 million, demonstrating its enduring commitment to 2 Degrés, its mission and the development of clean technology innovation.

The funding received will enable us to strengthen our support for startups and projects with high impact potential, develop new collaborative initiatives with the ecosystem and raise the profile of 2 Degrés.

Major economic benefits

Since launching its activities in the spring of 2021, 2 Degrés has, among other things:

• Supported over 100 startups and impact projects;
• Created over 350 jobs;
• Generated over $40 million in financing spinoffs;
• Developed open and collaborative innovation programs alongside major industrial players such as the Port of Québec and RECYC-QUÉBEC;
• Support and develop unique structuring initiatives such as the Carrefour de l'eau, bringing together several strategic partners to accelerate innovation in the water sector;
• Created a cleantech support continuum alongside Cycle Momentum and IVÉO, to accelerate the creation of cleantech companies in Quebec, from lab to market.

About Quebec City's Entrepreneurial Vision 2030

Focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, growth, financing and support, the Québec 2030 Entrepreneurial Vision aims to make Québec City the entrepreneurial capital of the country. It brings together financial assistance programs and measures to help businesses grow. The Vision receives $19.6 million in funding from the Québec government through the Fonds de la région de la Capitale-Nationale (FRCN) for the year 2025-2026. The City of Québec and the Secrétariat à la Capitale-Nationale are key partners in promoting the Vision.

The FRCN was created in 2018 under the Act granting Québec City the status of national capital, thereby increasing its autonomy and powers; its spin-offs are considerable for the region.
