An incubator is a support organization that helps entrepreneurs develop and structure their start-up projects. Through our coaching programs, we support start-ups by providing resources, personalized support, networking with our partners and community, specialized training and workshops, and an environment conducive to growth.

Joining an incubator enables you to structure your project, reduce the risk of failure and accelerate time-to-market, thanks to a structured framework and tailored support. This is particularly useful for technology startups, where innovation development and market validation are crucial stages.

There are no hard and fast rules, but usually after the ideation phase, once a first prototype is in hand and market interest has been demonstrated. At 2 Degrés, we accompany projects from the pre-start-up stage through to commercialization, in other words, from the laboratory to the market.

We support entrepreneurs from all over Quebec. Most of our activities are offered virtually, and we have a few face-to-face activities in Quebec City and Montreal. Our coaching programs do not cover travel expenses, which remain your responsibility. We do, however, have agreements with hotel groups to ensure preferential rates for your overnight stays. The calendar of activities is presented at the beginning of each phase, so that you can plan your travel.

No, 2 Degrés is financed by its network of corporate, academic and institutional partners, and does not operate on an equity model. This allows us to remain neutral with regard to your project, ensuring that we offer you the best support aligned with your objectives.

2 Degrés coaching programs are offered in French. Training sessions, workshops and group activities therefore take place mainly in French, and it is important that participants have a good understanding of this language in order to fully benefit from the program.

Incubation programs are one-year support programs offered in cohorts of a dozen companies. They are designed to support entrepreneurs in the overall development of their company, both in terms of business issues and aspects related to our niches of expertise, notably water, waste management and the energy transition. These programs are generally aimed at companies in the pre-startup and market validation phases.

Innovation programs are based on a collaborative approach with industrial partners. Their aim is to enable the deployment of pilot projects in a real-life context, in order to test and validate an innovation. The duration varies according to the project and the partner, generally between 3 and 12 months. Participating companies are usually more advanced in their development and ready to test their solution in the field, with targeted support according to project needs.
