Program structure

A 4-phase support program designed to strengthen your skills, refine your project and maximize your chances of success

Through our incubation programs, we offer specialized, personalized support, tailored to each entrepreneur. These programs are structured around four progressive phases designed to strengthen entrepreneurs' capabilities, refine their projects and maximize their chances of success.

These phases are common to all our incubation programs, but are tailored to the specific needs of each niche.

Our incubation programs last 12 months.

01

Foundation

The first phase is devoted to setting up the fundamentals of the project. Entrepreneurs benefit from weekly training sessions, personalized support and access to our network of experts. This phase enables priorities to be identified and blind spots to be filled through in-depth analysis and discussion. At the end of the phase, a structured assessment leads to a personalized support plan.

02

Exploration

This phase focuses on market validation, comparing the entrepreneur's assumptions with the real needs of customers and industry stakeholders. This includes meetings with potential customers and key players to refine the value proposition. The entrepreneur receives personalized strategic support, via banks of hours with experts to delve deeper into specific issues.

03

Validation

Entrepreneurs must now prove the market's interest in their solution with tangible data and concrete returns. This involves demonstrating the viability of the business model and adjusting the offering in line with the results obtained in the previous phases. Support continues with strategic advice and in-depth workshops.

04

Consolidation

The last phase of our incubation program enables the business plan to be finalized with solid data, so that the acceleration phase can begin. Entrepreneurs work on structuring their project effectively, preparing a financing strategy, and getting ready to meet investors. The phase ends with a Demo Day, a strategic event where entrepreneurs can present their project to an audience of investors and potential partners.

Innovation stories

"Integrating 2 Degrés marked a real turning point in our entrepreneurial journey. From the very first weeks, we were impressed by the quality of the strategic support we received: exchanges were structured, demanding, but always benevolent. The mentors don't just give advice, they get involved, challenge our assumptions and help us take a step back to better guide our decisions."

Manon Sayag, Co-founder of FloteXa

"2 Degrés gives us access to a network of mentors, experts and partners like few other incubators can. The exchanges with these people have been extremely concrete and relevant, both in terms of challenging our approach and accelerating certain strategic decisions. The training offered is also very useful, enabling us to quickly structure key elements such as the business model, financing or marketing."

Louis-Philippe Noël, Founder of Sulys

"Behind this support is always an exceptional team: competent, dynamic, accessible and deeply committed to the success of the projects they support. This commitment is tangible in every exchange: we feel constantly listened to, challenged and supported."

Frequently asked questions

Answers to your questions

What kind of support do incubation programs offer?

2 Degrés' incubation programs offer personalized support tailored to the needs of the entrepreneur and the company. Each company that joins our programs is assigned an entrepreneurial advisor who follows it throughout its journey with 2 Degrés.

The company has access to activities specific to each slot (coaching, workshops, training and visits) to respond to the realities of the field and create synergies between peers; a bank of hours with our network of experts, accessible according to the real needs of each startup; a bank of hours of personalized advice with our support advisors to structure the project and move it forward concretely; face-to-face activities, including moments of co-development, exchange and interventions with our experts; a diversity of events dedicated to entrepreneurs in the cleantech ecosystem.

How long does an incubation program last?

Incubation programs last 12 months.

How much does the 2 Degrés incubation program cost?

Our incubation programs are worth $60,000. Incubation costs are largely financed by our organization and our financial partners. Participating companies must pay the remaining $350 per month (plus taxes) to participate in the incubation program.

When are the calls for proposals for incubation programs?

2 Degrés generally issues two calls for projects per year for its incubation programs.

A first call is issued during the summer for a cohort starting in the fall. A second call is issued during the winter for a cohort starting in spring, generally in April. Exact dates may vary from year to year. We invite interested companies to follow our communications and networks so as not to miss future calls for projects.

What are the criteria for joining our incubation programs?

You must be an entrepreneur with an innovative project with high growth potential in Quebec in the clean technology sector (water, energy transition, residual materials). Be at least at the pre-startup stage (TRL-NMT 3 to 7) of your project; Have developed an innovative project (involving research) with a high environmental impact; Devote a minimum of 20 hours per week to your project

What to do after incubation?

We work with key players in the cleantech ecosystem in Quebec and across Canada. After a period of incubation, and once you've reached the commercialization stage, we generally advise you to seek the support of a gas pedal.

What level of involvement can I expect in an incubation program?

Incubation programs require active involvement on the part of entrepreneurs to maximize the benefits of their support. This includes taking part in training sessions, follow-up meetings and other program activities.

The pace is generally faster in the first phase of the program, which is a foundation phase. This phase is designed to enable entrepreneurs to rapidly develop the essential knowledge and skills needed to start up and develop a business. Thereafter, the frequency of training courses and activities gradually diminishes, to leave more room for the implementation and development of the entrepreneurial project.

What's the difference between the Water, Waste and Energy Transition incubation programs?

2 Degrés' incubation programs are divided by niche to offer specialized support tailored to the specific realities of each sector. While all programs cover the basics of entrepreneurial development, each niche presents different issues, markets and business contexts, requiring a targeted approach.

The Water, Residual Materials and Energy Transition programs each offer content, activities, experts and speakers specific to their field. This approach enables incubated companies to benefit from more relevant support, better aligned with their reality and the challenges specific to their sector of activity.

Each program therefore aims to provide a learning and development environment tailored to the needs of companies operating in these strategic sectors.

What happens if I don't reach the acceleration stage within 12 months?

Within the framework of our incubation programs, our aim is to accompany you towards commercialization. However, this step is not guaranteed and depends on the pace at which your project is validated. Incubation is a key phase for testing market potential, refining your business model and preparing for accelerated growth. It's also a strategic time to assess the viability of your project and, if necessary, adjust your direction. Some challenges may require a pivot, or even a reorientation, to ensure sustainable development in line with market opportunities.
