Flashlight

Chalumeau is a technology company for the very large-scale reduction of industrial greenhouse gas emissions. Our technology replaces the cement kiln's fossil-fuel burner with a pair of electrodes that generate several megawatts of radiant heat through arc plasmas. These electric arcs conduct current between the electrodes, radiating intense heat to initiate and sustain the chemical reactions that produce clinker in the kiln from the pre-calcined mix. This electric arc heating process emits far less CO2 into the atmosphere than current rotary kilns, assuming that the electricity consumed is generated from renewable energy sources.
